A friend is someone who is there
In the times of need and sorrow.
Someone you know and really cares,
And has an ear you may borrow.
Friendship can come from anyone,
Men, women, and even lovers.
It may be hard to see in some.
Like cousins, sisters, and brothers.
Everyone should have one true friend
to laugh with, cry for, talk to.
Someone who'll be there 'til the end
Because, you'll be there for them, too.
Friendship isn't just for yourself.
You must be willing to give
Because, when one gives of oneself,
A friendship starts, and starts to live.
