A Mother's Tears

tears flowing softly
rivers of pain
visible signs of weakness
each droplet forming
from the blood of innocence

a mother stands
quietly weeping
as her child suffers
from the deeds of another

this pain unending
this confusion unknown
the future on hold
the past scarred and broken
the present uncertain at best

this mother..
gives her child to another
praying to God for salvation
a miracle cure
something to ease the pain

nothing comes
just the endless rain
