New Rose

This rose that once was wilting
shows signs of rebirth

Once fading tones
deepen in hue

Cracked, drying leaves
show signs of new life

It's roots had plunged deep in the earth
feeding from hidden stores
yet still slowly wilting
this rose waited
held on with weakening strength

The cleansing tears of released pain
replenished the soil which feeds it's roots
Rays of hope..spread their warmth
driving the frost from the soil

This rose that once was wilting
Now awakens from it's slumber
it's roots are stronger
the stem grows thick
leaves plump with moisture
a vibrant green hue
the bud, once held tightly closed
shows promise of blooming
as spring brings it's warmth
and hope burns anew.
